“We do not stop exercising because we grow old—We grow old because we stop exercising”

-Dr. Ken Cooper

This week we are going to shift gears a little bit and simplify. I hear A LOT of people say they would like to get fit, but have no idea where to start. I am here to help you out this week. I have heard this same statement often in my practice and I love to help people START.

So many people believe they have to go all out when they start a workout program/try to get into shape. I have to say this is not the way to start exercising. If you do attempt this approach you may feel defeated because you are too sore ( or in pain) to move for a couple of days and then give up.

Your body has to be eased into a new routine. This mean you need to start slow and progress as your endurance, fitness, strength, flexibility, motivation, and energy builds up. Below is a link to demonstrate marching in place. For someone who has not been active in a while start with marching in place for 5- 10 minutes. Do this for a couple of weeks and add 1 min each day.

My passion in life is to help people return to their active lifestyle and to live pain free! Are you in pain? If so, call to schedule an appointment. I would love to help you.
