Discover the Power of Group Fitness!
The term group fitness includes any and all forms of fitness that is done in a group setting, led by a personal trainer or group instructor.
There are many benefits to using group fitness, including but not limited to:
- Same benefits as a personal trainer, but with cost savings due to other group members contributing to the cost of the class
- Accountability and increased motivation: Having someone tell you what exercises to do and being surrounded by other people keeps you accountable to keep going, even when you don’t feel like it!
- Group fitness classes can push you to be better in a friendly way: the instructor and other participants can inspire you to keep getting stronger and challenging yourself a little more each time
But … what about group fitness led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy?
There are additional benefits when your group therapy session is led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy:
- Able to correct your form on exercises to ensure optimal muscle activation and to prevent injury
- Can answer your questions about anatomy or exercises more in depth than the average trainer
- Able to provide multiple options for modifying exercises (either progressing or regressing) as needed
- Available to treat you as a patient if you have limitations, weakness, or pain with any movements or exercises. You will be building a relationship with your group leader and will be able to trust them with your physical therapy care if the need arises!
At Elite Muscle Recovery, we offer beginner workout group classes if the idea of group fitness intimidates you. We provide a judgment-free zone where the goal is to help every participant improve their strength and confidence! We keep the number of participants small (5-6 max) to allow for a more intimate setting and to allow for more personalized attention from the group instructor.
If you are interested in group fitness, or have any questions, we’d love to chat with you!
