Dr. Katelyn Renard

Dr. Katelyn Renard

PT, DPT, OCS
Physical Therapist

Dr. Katelyn went to Union University for college, completely unsure of what she wanted to do for a career. Her experience living through an EF-4 tornado that struck the college campus in 2008 indirectly led her on the path to pursue physical therapy as a career. She was able to see the impact of physical therapy in rehabilitating a classmate who was injured in the tornado, watching him progress from being in a wheelchair to eventually running again with the help of his physical therapist.

Katelyn moved to Chattanooga for physical therapy school in 2011, and graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014 from the University of TN at Chattanooga. She immediately fell in love with Chattanooga and knew it was where she wanted to put roots down.

She went on to complete an Orthopedic Residency and become board certified in Orthopedics in 2016. She is trained in Dry Needling. Katelyn has been practicing in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy setting for over 9 years, during which she served as a clinic director, clinical instructor to students, mentor to new graduate physical therapists, and senior therapist, all while treating a full caseload of patients.

Of all the roles Katelyn has held throughout her career, she enjoys treating her patients the most, because helping people heal and achieve their goals is what led her to want to become a physical therapist in the first place. While building lasting relationships along the way, Katelyn enjoys catering treatment to each unique patient and providing personalized care to help them meet their individual goals and get back to doing the activities they love.

Her passion for physical therapy has continued to deepen over the years, and she loves empowering patients with knowledge concerning the benefits of conservative care and the body’s ability to heal and get stronger. She strives to bring a high level of expertise and compassion to each patient interaction, and she fully believes in treating patients the way she would want to be treated.

Katelyn has been married to her husband, Robinson, for over 7 years and they have two beautiful sons, ages 4 and 2. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, journaling at a local tea shop, hand lettering, making natural household and cleaning products, and learning ways to make healthier food. She is active at her church and absolutely loves spending time with her husband and boys.
